Forklift Trucks Norfolk

caseNorfolk-based Foulger Transport has provided efficient warehousing and haulage services across East Anglia, the UK and internationally since 1935.

With 100 trucks on the road delivering seven days a week and 20% of warehouse capacity turned over on a weekly basis, pressure to handle products quickly and effectively is intense. Materials handling equipment moves a huge range of goods, from machinery and oil barrels to bottles and books, every day from 3am to 8pm.

Group Operations Manager, Simon Lee: “We can’t afford a breakdown. Every truck has to work for up to six days a week and be strong to cope with the volume and intensity of work.

Foulger has had an excellent relationship with local forklift trucks Norfolk dealer Babbis for over ten years which includes Foulger providing all the transportation of forklift trucks to and from Babbis. When Babbis became an exclusive CESAB dealership, its director Damon Kent demonstrated the European-manufactured warehouse and counterbalanced range to Foulger, explaining the benefits it would bring.

Damon: “Because CESAB products are made in Europe using *TPS, one of the world’s best manufacturing systems, we were confident they would bring even greater efficiencies to Foulger’s operations.” Ten CESAB trucks now in use include the CESAB B316, a compact, powerful 48 volt electric truck which can manoeuvre easily in narrow aisles and around tight corners, making it ideal for warehouses. Two CESAB M318s and three M325s are used for loading and unloading operations. These offer rigid steel side panels and strong bodywork to protect the operator and truck. The M300 range’s torque convertor transmission ensures more speed and better performance over long distances.

To suit Foulger’s specific needs, Babbis arranged for a CESAB gas truck to be fitted with a paper clamp for large rolls of industrial printing paper. This is a ‘quick fit’ attachment which operators can attach or remove easily as needed. Two CESAB R314 reach trucks are used at the warehouses. Their impressive features include an advanced control system that ensures fast, smooth transition from free lift to main lift without slow down. Most of the trucks feature CESAB’s Intelligent Mast Design, a series of smart, innovative features that help forklift operators to work more easily and safely and achieve quicker workplace operations. Superior visibility is achieved through two FFL cylinders providing operators with superior forward vision through the mast.
